James Raue

James is an award winning writer, producer and director known for Shooting Goldman (2015), Psychoanalysis (2016) and The Pretend One (2017). 

In 2015 he wrote, directed, produced and acted in the dark comedy Psychoanalysis. The screenplay was one of The Blacklist's top 25 most downloaded screenplays of 2014 and the film has gone on to screen at over ten international film festivals, picking up seven awards and a further four nominations.

His screenplay for comedy-drama, The Pretend One, was also produced in 2015, directed by Tony Prescott. The film was recently picked up by Causeway Films (The Babadook) and secured distribution through Bonsai Films. It is currently in post-production.

 

His screenplays for Psychoanalysis, The Pretend One and the unproduced Chasing Shadows have all been featured on the Black List website as some of the top screenplays of the year.

In 2012 James was a contributing writer to the sketch comedy TV series THE ELEGANT GENTLEMEN'S GUIDE TO KNIFE FIGHTING, produced by Jungleboys and airing on the ABC. In 2011 he was part of the script department for the Fox 8 drama SLiDE. He wrote two online episodes and script edited the graphic novels on behalf of the script department. SLiDE was nominated for Best TV Website at the 2012 Webby Awards and received a nomination for an International Emmy Award. His work on this show and his spec scripts garnered him a nomination for the Foxtel Award for Exceptional New Talent in 2011.
